DJ Rock Dock

As a new designer at SmartLab Toys, I started work on this DIY kit halfway through the production process. I completed the informational booklet and created the assembly instructions while the lead designer managed the package design, and we coordinated to ensure consistent look and feel. I worked with the toy designer to create detailed reference photos that I then handed off to our illustrator. The illustrator was working remotely, and I have to say that giving direction and feedback over phone and email for these complicated technical illustrations is one of the toughest communication challenges I’ve ever faced. It was really satisfying to see it all come together and become a fun and educational finished product.
